Vista? XP? Mac? Ubuntu?

Just a little research and an effort to bring this section alive.

Since it's not multiple choice,I chose Ubuntu,I'm using Ubuntu + KDE,but I use GNOME most of the time because firefox works better at Ubuntu.

You can use Wine to run programs to run games in avaiable in Windows, but most online have antihacking programs that gives trouble, until those game developer fix this,no MMO in Linux, although you can try games avaiable in synaptic pacakage, and good riddance,Linux doesn't need antivirus program. cheers

Yea that's the trouble I have to go through. Run an application in an application.
I din play MMO so that doesn't matter but will it block multiplayer games? Like playing Call of Duty 4 online? There's a anti-cheating mechanism in it too, punkbuster which gives players alot of trouble seriously even we aren't cheating.

I've heard Linux doesn't require AV , hmm why is that so?

There's even limited thing you could do even you're Admin with GUI,you only can change system file under username 'root' via command line interface. (for Ubuntu,It's diffrent with other Linux distribution I guess). This is mainly because it's easier to screw Linux than to fix it.It will even give warning even when trying to install Firefox Add-on.

I think there more reason why there are no virus for Linux, because nobody writes virus for Linux. lol!

hmm guess is not worth for scripter to write virus for linux anyway. Since no one is going to purchase AV for linux while virus scripter are mostly AV dudes themselves.

Oh really, and then since Linux is open source you can freely create a new OS for yourself if you know how to.

yea
consider about this.
You're a professional programmer. Will you waste ur time writing superb virus devastating the internet while earning nothing or will u write a simple program while u earn ur living
Why is there so many virus? more than few hundred thousands of them u know? Surely it comes from a source...well if there's no virus. AV aren't going to sale right? So generally we could say there's an amount of virus is came from AV dudes themselves.

That makes sense,I thought it's security problem with Windows, but still, almost all the people I know use pirated AV. Razz
