PostSubject: Intel Skull Trail anyone?   Sun Sep 28, 2008 1:37 pm

Well Intel Skull Trail has recently reaches the shores of Malaysia. The latest enthusiast level mobo from Processor manufacturer itself. Supporting up to dual-Quad Core. That's a whooping 8 cores~!
A pic of the mobo itself :

As you can see, there's 2 socket for proc. Both are Socket 771 which is a quad core socket.

Here's a pic with 2 QX9775 and memory attached :

Here's more PICTARSSSS :

Official key specs :
- Officially supports 1600MHz FSB.
- Desgined for dual QX9775 processors (3.2GHz 8x400 Socket 771) but also supports socket 771 Xeons.
- Supports Quad-Channel, designed to offset bandwidth problems caused by 8 cores and FB-Dimms.
- Supports SLI, both regular and tri-SLI, and maybe even Quad SLI (4 sepperate cards).
- Uses an nvidia chip for SLI in conjunction w/ Seaburg.
- Overclocking options in the BIOS.

Price? I've checked and so far the cheapest price I can find is RM1999. And if u're building a 8 cores and Tri-Sli . Adding everything up, you'll need at least 10k for that ^^
But you'll be playing everything at the highest possible settings and still get an impressive frame rates for sure
Cool

Rendering anything would be a breeze as well
